Educational Programs

· School Presentations – KNPLCB will educate the youth on Reducing, Reusing and Recycling, Litter, Beautification, Community Gardens, Recycled Art, Planting, the Environment and Local Cleanups by appointment. KNPLCB’s Frankie the Frog can also attend if requested.


· Cigarette Litter Prevention Program – This programs varies year by year, based on funding available through the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality. Pocket ashtrays available for public free of charge.


· America Recycles Day – On November 15th of each year, KNPLCB focuses on recycling efforts in the community.


· Waste in the Workplace – KNPLCB staff will assist businesses and organizations with establishing a recycling program at their location.


· Group Presentations – KNPLB will give presentations to groups about programs and events that are conducted through this organization


· Kids Discover Day – KNPLCB participates in this annual event by supplying and helping kids create recycled crafts for area kids.


· Earth Day Activities—Earth day activities are provided by appointment.


· GROW Community Garden— This is a local community garden offered through a wide partnerships in the community including KNPLCB, Lincoln Elementary, Berean Church, UNL Extension and Kids Klub. School students and Kids Klub, an after school program, use the garden as an outdoor classroom. Community members can also rent plots to grow produce and flowers.  CLICK HERE for Garden Application.
